At least it was this weekend. It’s supposed to dip down into the 40’s and 30’s again this week, but hey, I got to bask in the sunshine enough this weekend to hold me over for a little while!

It’s been quite the eventful past few days. The Entrepreneurship@Cornell Celebration was Thursday & Friday. Needless to say I was there working all day. I completely forgot about class on Friday. Completely. I thought it was Saturday. Oops. Luckily I didn’t have anything due. The Celebration was a lot of fun, especially since I had someone my own age (well..close enough) there this year. I love being able to observe business people doing their thing – you can really learn a lot!

Selling His WaresYesterday was absoltely gorgeous. I woke up early-ish to go to the Ithaca Farmer’s Market with Jess. That place is great for people-watching! Not to mention the delicious, fresh, and hand made goods :) After we’d exhausted the Farmer’s Market we decided it was far too nice to go back to school. A few u-turns later and we were on our way to Taughannock State Park. It was a beautiful walk (.75 miles each way) to the Falls. The drive there was really nice too, although on a day like yesterday, I doubt there is anything that wouldn’t be enjoyable :). After the Falls we decided to head home because we were dying of thirst and had stuff to do later in the evening. Taughannock Falls

Fast forward a few hours and I had to go to Dreaming of China, an event put on by 2 of the Chinese Dance Troupes on campus. I’d told my friend Cathy I would shoot some photos for her. 375+ shots, 2 error messages, and 2 hours later I was back in my room uploading the over 700 photos I took over the course of the day. I ended up getting a bunch of really great shots, which I was especially proud of because I’ve finally sword off using the automatic settings on the camera. No more green square for me. I shoot in “M” now :). I can’t really remember what I did for the rest of the night? I may have watched My Big Fat Greek Wedding with Margot and Shannon, but I think that was Friday?

Studying in the SunToday was even NICER than yesterday if you can believe it (I’m still having a hard time). I went to brunch with Jess (a different once). When I opened the door to leave the building I was expecting to instantaneously freeze like I’ve done every day for the past ~6 months, but turns out it was PERFECT out! Not even a breeze to give me the slightest chill. So nice. So brunch was fun, then I came in to start processing all of these photos I took of Dreaming of China.

Dreaming of China</a>Margot popped her head in my window to see if I wanted to study outside. Umm..yeah! I changed out of my crappy clothes and into something that wouldn’t give me a farmer’s tan. I didn’t really have any work to do (SHOCKING!) but I just wanted to go outside. About an hour into our homework/reading, we decided smoothies would be perfect. Unfortunately, all of the places that make smoothies/juice drinks were closed/didn’t deliver. Lucky for us my car is down here. We hopped in and went down to the Commons for Smoothie Hut. I don’t think anything could have been more perfect at that point. Back up to campus and back to our towels in the grass.

After dinner I finally uploaded a bunch of my photos and that’s where I am now.

2 weeks of classes to go. That’s 9 days of classes if you don’t count Slope Day. That’s FIVE more Linear Algebra classes. JUST FIVE! The end is in sight…finally…

Well, I think this is getting too long for anyone’s own good. Suffice it to say that this weekend was probably one of the best I’ve had in a REALLY long time. It was so nice to just be able to relax and enjoy without having to worry about 16 layers of clothes and 4 projects due the next week.

Here are some of those 700 photos I was talking about: Flickr
